About Cats are life:
Our History
“Cats are life” was founded in September 2020 when Hurricane Laura threatened our area and we started rescuing cats and kittens from that point forward.
All that we rescue are taken to the vet immediately for wellness check, vaccination, spay and neuter, and once all clear they are introduced to the rest of the family and amazingly enough all get along well
Our Partners
We believe that there is power & strength in numbers and we welcome any 501c3 and independent rescuers to unite and help get laws changed, challenge cities, counties and states to donate land and materials to build no kill sanctuary’s.

Going Forward
Our primary focus is to make sure every Kitten and Cat is safe, secure, healthy, spay or neutered, well fed, loved and happy as possible.
We are located in a small town with an abundance of stray, abandoned and feral Cats and Kittens that go ignored and disregarded, there is only a dog shelter controlled by the city and absolutely no resources for cats.
Adoptions are slim because of city ordinances limits cats per household
There are other smaller rescues in the area and all are filled up.
So basically we are not only a rescue, but an indoor sanctuary without cages or pins, We modified the interior, added on an attached cat room, built and expanded the main catio 3 times, built and attached a new catio to the outside of the new cat room and attached by walkway to the main catio.
Also expanded out and made another room with an attached mini catio for our FELV + cats (2).
We even have an insulated outdoor enclosure for the neighborhood cats and provide fresh food and water.
It is hard to keep pace, but somehow we do and nowhere near finished expanding, already have a few other projects planned to add space for the fur-babies comfort, they have full run of the house and can be isolated if sick or for newcomers and it is rare if they are put in a pin and if so, it is only a few days
Donations
Asking for donations is something we were not wanting to approach because so many rescues struggle to survive unless they are one of the larger organizations, but the small 501's and independents far outnumber the big groups and seriously need help.
Being a 501 the IRS requires a certain % of capital to be from outside donations so I am at the point of asking for help, the donation link goes to Chewy for gift cards and any amount is a serious help.
Our population continues to grow, We are finding, getting phone calls, Being called by the vet because someone is trying to euthanize because they can't afford treatment so we get the treatment and take them home.

The way I see it is that we are all just guests on this planet and our form of life stole the planet from all other forms of life that got here the same way we did and have just as much of a right to be here but mankind claimed all land and resources and refuses to share so some of us choose to do what is right even if we have to do without
